Comparison of human recombinant IL-2

"In our laboratory we use rh IL-2 for human cell proliferation and for maintenance of the mouse cell line CTLL2. This cell line is used in our assays to determine IL-2 production by donor transplant PBMC when confronted with intended recipient PBMC

To test the suitability of the new IL-2 PHA expanded human lymphocytes were grown in culture conditions comparing IL-2 sourced from a leading US company and the Apollo IL-2. The growths of the cell culture were monitored and comparable results were achieved.

Secondly, Apollo IL-2 was used in a dose response assay comparing both products and our CTLL-2 cells.

Apollo compared favourably with the IL-2 we are currently using and was more sensitive at lower doses.

We were impressed with these results and will be very happy to use Apollo IL-2 in future work."
